Fred Kerley has been handed a two-year ban following three whereabouts failures within a 12-month span.
The American sprinter will remain ineligible for competition until August 11, 2027. A Disciplinary and Appeals Tribunal ruled the former world 100m champion was negligent and reckless in failing to meet anti-doping filing requirements.

Kerley recorded three whereabouts failures between May 11 and December 6, 2024.
“It’s shocking how athletes can still try and get away with this kind of thing if they know that their bread and butter is literally depending on it!” – JAY
His results between December 6, 2024, and August 12, 2025, have been disqualified, including all prize money and titles. Kerley reportedly blamed a missed test on May 11 on technical issues with the USADA Athlete Connect App.
He further blamed a Doping Control Officer for missed tests on December 6 and December 7, according to official tribunal findings reported by NBC Sports. The tribunal found that nothing in the officer’s conduct fell short of what was reasonably required in the circumstances.
Kerley retains the right to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
