Hanro Liebenberg is returning to where his professional journey started at Loftus Versfeld for the 2026/27 season.
The powerhouse loose forward spent seven exceptional years with the Leicester Tigers where he became a massive figure in the English Premiership. Liebenberg leaves England with an incredible resume that includes 141 caps and 31 tries for the Tigers.
He played a pivotal role in securing the 2022 Premiership title and served as a captain who led from the front with physical intensity. The Bulls are gaining a veteran with a high rugby IQ and the mobility to change a game in an instant.
His arrival in Pretoria is expected to push the current loose forward contingent to new heights as competition for spots heats up. Liebenberg first made his mark as a Junior Springbok captain and a standout for the Bulls before his move abroad.
Now he returns to the Highveld with a wealth of international experience to bolster the Bulls’ pack for their upcoming campaigns.
Welcome home, Hanro.
“This guy is a machine! He is Rugby Intel, mobility and fearlessness I’ll definitely ruffle some tail feathers among the current loosies at the Bulls!” – JAY
