Congratulations to coach Philip Snyman and his South African boys on winning the Vancouver 2026 SVNS title after a dominant 38-12 victory over Spain in the Men’s Cup Final at BC Place!
South Africa took total control of the match early to secure a 17-0 lead by the halftime interval. Ryan Oosthuizen opened the scoring in the 3rd minute followed by a Sebastiaan Jobb try in the 4th minute.

Shilton van Wyk added to the first half tally with a clinical finish in the 6th minute. Spain responded in the second half with tries from Jeremy Trevithick in the 10th minute and Anton Legorburu Anso in the 12th minute. South Africa neutralized the Spanish comeback as Shilton van Wyk secured his brace in the 8th minute.
Gino Cupido crossed the line in the 11th minute followed by an Impi Visser try in the 14th minute to close out the match. The kicking game was clinical with Ronald Brown converting in the 5th and 8th minutes.
Dewald Human added the final two conversions in the 12th and 14th minutes to secure the 38-point total. Juan Martinez provided the lone conversion for Spain in the 13th minute. The victory has massive implications for the season standings as South Africa now sits in 2nd place with 86 points.

The Blitzboks are now tied with Fiji on the overall 2026 SVNS standings.
