Casandra Alexander closed with a bogey-free 64 to win the Wistron Ladies Open by three strokes on Sunday and clinch the 2026 Ladies European Tour Order of Merit with two events of the season still to play.
The South African finished on 21-under-par after rounds of 64, 71, 68 and 64 at Sunrise Golf and Country Club in Chinese Taipei. England’s Hannah Screen was second on 18-under.
Alexander started the final round one shot behind home player Ching Huang. She ended it three clear of the field.
It is her fourth Ladies European Tour title and her third win of 2026, after the KPMG Women’s Irish Open in August and the Buccellati Ladies Italian Open in September. The Ladies European Tour counted it as three wins from five appearances on tour this season.
Casandra Alexander’s Closing 64 At The Wistron Ladies Open
She birdied the third, the sixth, the ninth and the 10th, and never gave a shot back all day.
The round turned at the par-5 13th. Alexander found the green in two and holed the eagle putt, and the lead was hers from there.
Birdies on 16 and at the last closed it out. Eight under par, no bogeys, world number 27 going in.
“Doug and I did unbelievable work at decision making.” – Casandra Alexander
Doug is Douglas Pirie, her caddie. Alexander told the Ladies European Tour she had been carrying a pinched neck since Friday morning and got the job done anyway.
She also pointed at her coach, Grant Veenstra, who was not in Chinese Taipei at all. He had been grafting with her from home, and she called it a team effort and a team win rather than her own.
Her husband, Adrian, was not there either. She said she was upset about that, and then said it was alright.
The Two Goals She And Doug Pirie Set In October
In early October, with five events left in the season, Alexander and Pirie set themselves two targets. Win the Order of Merit before the tour reached its final event in Spain, then go to LPGA Q-Series in November and try for an LPGA Tour card.
Compleat Golfer reported both at the time. The first one is now settled.
The Order of Merit is the season-long points standing that decides who finishes the year as the Ladies European Tour’s number one. Alexander sits on top of it with 3,456.48 points, far enough clear that nobody left can reach her.
Canada’s Anna Huang is second, Australia’s Kelsey Bennett third, Germany’s Alexandra Försterling fourth and France’s Agathe Laisné fifth.
Hannah Screen Made Her Work For It
Screen signed for a 66. She birdied the second, dropped a shot at the fourth, then rolled in six birdies over her last 10 holes.
It was the best result of her Ladies European Tour career, and it lifted her from 44th to 20th on the Order of Merit.
Top of the final leaderboard:
- Casandra Alexander (RSA) — 64-71-68-64, 267 (−21)
- Hannah Screen (ENG) — −18
- T3. Pei-Ying Tsai (TPE) — −17
- T3. Mimi Rhodes (ENG) — −17
- Ching Huang (TPE) — −15
- Cheng-Hsuan Shih (TPE) — −14
Rhodes climbed from 112th to 67th on the Order of Merit with her share of third.
From A Torn ACL To The Top Of The Order Of Merit
Alexander tore her ACL in 2025, not long after a strong run at home, and still came back inside the same season to win her first Ladies European Tour title at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open. The Sunshine Tour’s own account of that year put the recovery at the centre of it.
She closed 2025 with the lowest stroke average on tour at 70.42.
By early October this year she had 23 top-10 finishes on the Ladies European Tour and a lead of 1,288.28 points over Huang at the top of the standings.
The tour moves on to Shenzhen next week for the Aramco China Championship at Mission Hills, from 5 to 8 November, before the season closes in Spain.
