The Vodacom Bulls have reportedly secured the signature of Curwin Bosch to bolster their backline depth for the 2026/27 campaign.
The former Sharks playmaker is currently finishing his stint with CA Brive in the French Pro D2 before making his highly anticipated return to the Highveld. This move comes as a major boost for the Pretoria-based side following the retirement of veteran fly-half Johan Goosen, who has pivoted to farming and the insurance industry.
Reliable reports from Rapport and Planet Rugby indicate that the 28-year-old has already put pen to paper, with the move now described as completed. Bosch left South African shores in 2024 but has remained a consistent performer in France, where he has been rebuilding his form away from the Durban spotlight. His ability to cover both fly-half and full-back makes him a strategic asset for Coach Johan Ackermann in the United Rugby Championship.

Earlier this month we hinted that a move might be on the cards for the versatile back. Loftus faithful will likely welcome the signing given the current frustration regarding Handre Pollard. Many fans reckon that because Pollard gets paid a lot of money, he should be playing all the matches rather than being managed for international duty or rest cycles.

According to SA Rugby Mag, the Bulls initially looked at Tinus de Beer, but shifted focus when the Dragons refused an early release for the Welsh-based fly-half. Sources like La Montagne and Midi Olympique have tracked Bosch’s progress in Europe, and it is now confirmed by major outlets that he has signed and will link up with his new teammates at Loftus Versfeld immediately after the French season concludes.

“Bosch is one of those youngster superstars who’s been badly managed by the unions he played for during his career in South Africa, just like legends before him like Gaffie Du Toit and many others!” – Jay | JPS
The utility back still holds ambitions for the green and gold with the 2027 Rugby World Cup on the horizon. Moving to the Bulls provides the perfect platform for him to showcase his massive kicking game under the guidance of the Loftus coaching staff. While the official club announcement is expected once contract cycles wrap up, the rugby world considers this a finished piece of business.
